We’re always suckers for a tasty T-Shirt and quite fancy this quality design from the guys at Dephect in conjunction with Julien Ekiem. I think this could well be in my suitcase when we head out for our first trip of the year to Ibiza!
Founded in 1999, Dephect began as a creative outlet for a small group of friends from north west London in Great Britain. Inspired by various subcultures and growing up as teenagers in the 90’s, we developed a love of underground art and music, and a passion for drawing, painting and graphic design. Dephect has grown organically over the years to become an established label with fans all over the world, and still remains truly independent to this day. As one of the original artist collaboration brands we have withstood the test of time, and continue to stand out from the crowd by working with carefully selected artists and illustrators to produce world class artwork that people can connect with.
Julien Ekiem is a freelance artist and designer from Lyon. Born in the Parisian suburbs, he developed an interest for the image at a very early age and quickly expanded his graphic and visual culture to which he devoted his studies. He began his career as a freelance graphic designer in 2007 and has since worked for creative agencies and various brands.
Parallel to his activity as a designer, Julien Ekiem develops a more personal style and adopts in his works a simple visual language based on clean and stylized lines, mixing bold colors, patterns and repetitive motifs. Rich contents and combinations, plurality of supports, his works can be read as a teeming whole or as a multitude of protean and autonomous elements.
A versatile and applied artist, Julien Ekiem has evolved a lot since his beginnings and is currently turning towards a more contemporary and graphic approach, as shown in his latest works.
