For this weeks ‘Throwback Thursday’ track we wanted an all-out bit of filth with a thumping bassline to take us headlong into the weekend…
We asked Drop The Beat resident Jules to pick out a track guaranteed to to get the party started and man alive, he did not let us down!
“I’ve gone for Booka Shades Tresspass 2019 remix by Mark Knight. It’s worth pointing out that you get two throwbacks for the price of one with this, as the 2019 release is actually a remix of a remix, based on Booka Shades ‘Night Falls’ EP first released in early 2006. Good, eh?
From Mr. Toolroom himself, it’s no less than you’d expect; a full on filthy house banger that hits hard. VERY hard! It’s quite a departure from the original but that’s no bad thing… the production on this is nothing short of epic and it takes what was great and elevates it to, well, bloody brilliant!
It’s pretty timeless and it terms of the Toolroom house style, it could have been released yesterday. Always fresh and ready to turn up the heat when you need it. One that should be in every DJ’s armoury. I still turn to this one now when I need a bit of a lift.
If you don’t start rocking to this one there’s something wrong with you. Just sayin…”.
