Who are we? DropTheBeat.co.uk is a collective of DJ’s, Promoters, Event Planners and Creatives based in the UK’s Northwest with one thing in common – an absolute passion for all things dance music; from stone-cold classics to the latest releases and everything in between!
Our Resident DJ’s Nick Sheldon & Julian Grattidge have been mixing it up since the ‘second summer of love’ back in 1988 which saw the rise of acid house, illegal raves and the birth of electronic dance music. Whilst their vinyl collections stretch back to the mid-eighties, their main passion is for everything new and their mixes for DropTheBeat reflect this, showcasing emerging new talents as well as the biggest names in the scene, however, we’ll often ask them to take a deep-dive back in time to pick out a few special ones!
Our events team have been involved in promoting all kinds of gigs from intimate specialist house parties to full on dance festivals all across the UK. This wealth of knowledge is backed up by our in-house team of creatives, with over twenty years experience in online publishing building online communities with millions of active users and subscribers, whilst not forgetting our experienced editorial team who have been feature writing for some of the UK’s leading hard copy magazines and journals since the early 90’s.
